Pragmatic UX

With every project we engage in, we aim to create the best user experience and it’s great when budgets are big enough, but with smaller budgets the amount of time we can spend on UX planning is limited. So what's the pragmatic approach to UX when budgets are small?

1. Do the work pro bono
2. Don’t do any UX design and hope it’s alright in the end
3. Tell the client they need more money for a better solution that includes UX thought
4. Find a happy medium. But what's that?

From the above, 1. Might be an option but it isn’t a reliable business model. 2. and 3. are often not viable. So finding a happy medium is the way.

We trust our experience, take a lean approach and get varied opinions to validate assumptions. UX is always involved.
